But I will still give my mom a call on this special day, and hopefully she won’t mind that I won’t be there again to celebrate this special day with her. Staying in another country away from my family would mean that we don’t get to celebrate most of the special days together, but that does not mean that I care less about them.

So, maybe I will buy her something special when I plan to fly back again. My mom broke her necklace some time ago, and I don’t think she has bought herself a new one.
